Saito’s Location Labelling solution for Orora

Jun 16, 2017

The life of a warehouse supervisor can be a difficult one on most days, but is even more difficult when you physically move location. This was the challenge for Wesley Morris, Stores Supervisor at Orora Cartons when in October 2016 they moved from their existing Mount Wellington store to their new purpose built location at 70B Plunket Avenue, Manukau.

Wesley was unable to use any of his existing shelving and so it was a fresh start. When he labelled his new racking he chose a standard white synthetic label for his 3, 447 locations from Saito. Orora chose Saito Labels Limited (Saito) to manufacture and deliver as a complete set of pre-printed location labels. The process was simple and commenced with Orora supplying an Excel file of all location numbers including arrow direction.

Wesley and his team will use these labels to identify all materials and keep track of how it moves from one place to another.

Saito imaged the information supplied by Orora onto a 71mm x 219mm Pallet Beam Location Label via our variable image print centre. The base label stock is a rugged synthetic material with a permanent adhesive.

The Saito location label tags worked well and even when we made a mistake, there were no problems. We could gently remove and re adhere it
